Anchoring prohibited without authorization.
Anchoring and berthing of ships in Phaëton Bay (Taravao) are subject to prior authorization from the Autonomous Port of Papeete.
Any vessel at anchor without authorization is in an irregular situation.
CENSUS IN PROGRESS
The Port Authority of Papeete is conducting a census of vessels present in the bay. Actions will be taken to clear the area of unauthorized vessels.
Given the ongoing El Niño episode, which increases the risk of intense phenomena during the cyclone season, it is important that these ships be removed without delay: a poorly moored or degraded ship can drift, sink and pollute.

- To become known at the Autonomous Port of Papeete, by presenting an identity document and the ship's documents (navigation certificate or certificate of registration, insurance certificate, notice of nautical operation); ;
- Withdraw your ship from Phaeton Bay, except with anchoring authorization issued by the Autonomous Port of Papeete.
FAILING
The Port Authority of Papeete will initiate the necessary procedures to clear the area, which may lead to official relocation of the ship, at the owner's expense and risk.
